Artist Statement
My intent with this photograph is to visually communicate themes of innovation, family, defiance, and victory. I carefully selected and positioned the objects to symbolize those themes. The use of warm lighting was meant to evoke a sense of familiarity even while developing something new. The sunglasses represent hiding emotions and defiance from corporate rule. The toast represents food as fuel. The tools are arranged in a way that represents how eating a meal can be the one orderly gathering even in chaos.
